Our Take:

In light of Apple’s rumored investment in virtual reality, comments on the subject made by CEO Tim Cook during Tuesday’s earnings call were particularly interesting, Techradar reports. Cook said virtual reality wasn’t actually “niche” and that it has “interesting applications.” As for the the rumors of its VR investment, Apple is said to have hired a top researcher in VR, Virginia Tech professor Doug Bowman, among other VR-related hires. We could see an Apple VR headset in the future, which could compete with Samsung Gear VR and, of course, Facebook’s Oculus Rift coming in March.
