moody's CBS Moonves

A big stock price winner last week was Viacom, up 8.31% to a $45.90 share price, according to Cablefax’s Week in Review of telecom and media stocks for the week of January 18. The company made the news for both CEO Philippe Dauman’s compensation (at least $39.6 million last year) and the call made by hedge fund SpringOwl Asset Management to replace board chairman Sumner Redstone. The chairman’s mental state has been in question since a former girlfriend filed a probate lawsuit last year. The saga continues: on Monday a California judge ordered Redstone to complete a mental examination and the stock fell by 2.96% this morning to $41.93. Other stock price winners were Vonage, up 9.13% to $5.14 share, and CSG Systems, up 8% to $35.66 a share.
