Viacom Share Price Winner Last Week

Viacom’s leadership saga continues, but last week’s stock share price experienced some gains as a result, according to Cablefax’s week in review of telecom and media stocks for the week of May 23. The stock increased 13% after it was announced that chairman and CEO Philippe Dauman had been removed from Viacom’s trust, according to the New York Times, and it closed Friday at $48.77 share, a 15.62% increase. Meanwhile, the company’s directors have vowed to fight any moves by Sumner Redstone and his daughter to oust board members. On the loser side, Charter topped the last, closing at $220.01 a share, down 5.62%, followed by Blonder Tongue, which closed at $.35, down 5.38%.
