NBCUniversal has partnered with Snapchat to produce original customized episodic shows for the app’s Discover feature. NBC’s “The Voice on Snapchat” will premiere on August 22 and “E! News’ The Rundown” will follow on September 8. This multi-year content and advertising partnership significantly expands Snapchat’s already large media and entertainment brand portfolio –including Comedy Central, CNN, ESPN, Fusion and more. “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” and “Saturday Night Live” will debut original shows next, followed by other NBCUniversal entertainment, news, sports and Hispanic brands.

The five episode short-form series “The Voice on Snapchat” will debut in anticipation of the season premiere on September 19. Starting on August 9, Snapchat users can submit performance videos to voicesnap.com for a chance to appear during the broadcast premiere of “The Voice’s” new season. The show’s coaches Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will judge the submissions. “The Voice” is the first reality competition series to produce content for Snapchat.

“The Rundown” by “E! News” will produce weekly Snapchat series hosted by “E! News” correspondent Erin Lim, who will dissect all things pop culture. The series will feature exclusive “E! News” segments only available on Snapchat. NBCUniversal is one of the first partners to recreate television franchises for Snapchat. In exchange for NBCUniversal’s original Snapchat content, NBCUniversal will extend Snapchat’s advertising products into the media’s sponsorship, mobile and video offerings.
