Earnings Season—Cable Hopes to Benefit from Telco Losses

Will cable benefit from U-Verse and FiOS’ weaker-than-expected 2Q video and HSD adds? We should know soon with Comcast kicking off MSO reporting season on Wed. ISI Group expects video net losses for the publicly trades MSOs to be 153K for the Q vs 162K 2Q11 (a 6% improvement), while data should be strong but decelerating at +254K vs +424K a year earlier.
