Here is are our weekly column on new hires, promotions and departures in the cable industry. ??

  Beth Arnholt

Comcast tapped Beth Arnholt for the newly created post of VP of integrated talent management. She’ll help to create company-wide talent management programs across Comcast Corporate, Comcast Cable and NBCU. Arnholt comes from a strong HR background, most recently serving as principal and owner of BDC Consulting, a strategic HR and organizational development firm. And she’s no stranger to the MSO, having worked at Comcast Cable in recruiting and HR prior to BDC. She’ll report to Michael Angelakis, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer for Comcast Corp.

Bronwen O’Keefe

Here’s another new position—this time for a new programming block. Bronwen O’Keefe was named SVP for NickMom, the net’s foray into mom programming, launching this fall on 24-hr preschool net Nick Jr. She’s charged with creation and development of online and TV content and will report to Nick’s group president, Cyma Zarghami. O’Keefe was SVP of event and original programming for Nick prior to this and has been at the net for 15 years. What to expect? Think talk shows, stand-up comedy and hidden camera fun. And she’ll probably use her own mom insights and former work experience as a preschool teacher for inspiration.

Marietta Hurwitz

Marietta Hurwitz is charged with overseeing all things digital at Travel Channel now, as she slides into the role of SVP and GM of Digital. She’ll attend to strategy and content for the net and report to CFO Shannon O’Neil. Hurwitz was a consultant just prior, and also held the role of SVP and GM of Oprah.com and VP of digital marketing and content for Bravo Digital.
The man who brought American Idol and America’s Got Talent to U.S. audiences has been named president of Turner Broadcasting System International. Gerhard Zeiler moves from being CEO of RTL Group, a post he occupied from 2003, where upped the European TV production company’s roster to 41 channels and 34 radio stations in 10 countries. Zeiler began his career as a journalist and was a spokesperson for two Austrian Chancellors. A couple of accolades: he’s the first non-American to receive the Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Award from NATPE and in 2004 he landed the Media Personality of the Year at MIPCOM in Cannes.?
