Cable Pioneers

Judging by the packed house for The Cable TV Pioneers dinner last week in Denver, there’s plenty of interest in the organization. The Pioneers officers spoke with Cablefax about the future of cable, as those honored at the event are paving the way to further innovation. “The people that are being celebrated tonight are not only entrepreneurs,” Pioneers secretary-treasurer Pat Kehoe said. “They’re people that have vision and they’re people that are changing the industry.”

The event is the perfect melting pot of the old school with the new as the organization celebrates over 50 years of existence in the midst of the OTT revolution. “If you don’t really know where you’ve come from, you don’t know where you need to be,” chairwoman Susan Bitter Smith noted.
