AMC Dominated VOD in Sept-Oct, More Ratings News

Not content to just end 2013 with the number one series on cable (“The Walking Dead”), AMC took it a step further and is the number one network for VOD transactions in September and October. Based on Rentrak data, AMC had more than 25 million VOD orders during the period. That represents 975 million minutes of AMC programming.
“We believe in the value of the cable, satellite and telco ecosystem and know that many viewers access our programming through video on demand services made available by their television providers,” said Charlie Collier, AMC pres in a statement. “We are grateful to the fans who continue to seek out our programming on a variety of platforms, including this increasingly important one.”
For the week of Dec 16, ESPN was the number one network, with 3 million total viewers. But holiday programming was almost as popular as football. ABC Family with its annual Countdown to Christmas took the second place spot for the week, averaging 2.3 million viewers 2+. USA and Disney tied for third place, with 2.2 million.
