Paxton_Michael_SNLKagan croppedMike Paxton is a senior analyst at SNL Kagan.  His coverage areas include the pay-TV industry, with an emphasis on the global cable TV industry, and consumer electronic products that access or distribute video throughout the home, to include set-top boxes, DVRs, and streaming media devices.  His research coverage extends from the chipset to the end-use product or service.

Mr. Paxton is widely recognized as a market expert in the field of multimedia technologies.  He has been quoted in numerous business and trade publications including The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, The New York Times, Money Magazine, EE Times, and BusinessWeek, and has made numerous appearances on CNN, MSNBC, and CNBC to discuss the technology industry.  He has also contributed articles that have been published in numerous leading business magazines and trade publications, to include published in Electronic News, Electronic Business Asia, Communications Engineering & Design, and TWICE magazine.

Prior to joining SNL Kagan in 2013, Mr. Paxton spent 15 years working as a technology analyst at two research firms: Multimedia Research Group and In-Stat.  Before becoming a technology analyst, he served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Army.  He has a BA from MiamiUniversity and an MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
