Pro basketball admirably took it to cable’s rim around Valentine’s Day and scored often. After leading cable in prime across all demos, 3 of TNT’s NBA All-Star-related programming blocks also led in 18-49 delivery (live+SD) during the week of Feb 9-15. The net’s Sun night All-Star Game coverage paced cable by delivering 4.43mln viewers in the demo, followed by Sat night’s festivities including the slam dunk contest with 4.07mln and a 6min post-game wrap up with 3.55mln. 25min of pre-game coverage, meanwhile, notched 5th with 2.71mln, and was buttressed by a pair of WWE content hours on USA that averaged 2.61mln. Bravo’s “Top Chef” (2.39mln) was next, followed by 30min of TNT coverage preceding Sat night’s festivities (2.38mln), USA’s “Burn Notice” (2.35mln) and an hour of great NBA slam dunks from years past on, you guessed it, TNT (2.06mln). If you’re keeping score at home, TNT delivered an average of 3.2mln among 18-49s for 5 blocks (454min total) of NBA All-Star coverage.
