After a week of warnings, Fox and YouTube TV announced a full renewal of their distribution agreement late Thursday. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.

The new deal keeps Fox-owned local stations, Fox News, FS1, FS2, Fox Business, Fox Weather, Big Ten Network and Fox Deportes on the vMVPD’s lineup. It also means no disruptions are in the forecast as college football kicks off, MLB wraps up its regular season and NFL prepares to start.

Notices of a potential blackout started emerging Monday. Both sides claimed the other was asking for higher-than-normal rates, but ultimately agreed to a short-term extension before a 5pm deadline Wednesday. Eventually, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr commented on the situation, and his wish for YouTube TV owner Google to “Get a deal done” was granted.

Carr took to X upon the news of a renewal: “I’m very pleased that Google and Fox have now reached a deal. This is great news for college football fans and avoids blackouts. Enjoy the games this weekend!”
