Not only does Paramount Network have one of the hottest shows on TV with “Yellowstone,” but it also managed to pull off one of the coolest scavenger hunts we’ve ever seen. To promote Season 4 of the modern-day western series after a year-and-a-half hiatus, six Yellowstone landmarks were hidden in key markets across the U.S. This included putting the famous Y-mark on existing landmarks as well as creating a free-standing Dutton Ranch sign. Each day during premiere week, three clues were dropped on Yellowstone social handles for fans to locate the real-life Yellowstone landmarks anywhere in the U.S. No one had to hop on a plane to find the locations, with the team launching interactive custom microsite FindingYellowstone.com. More than 8,000 unique fans guessed at least one correct landmark and were entered to win hundreds of prizes, with one lucky winner nabbing an all-expenses paid trip to Montana to stay at Chief Joseph Ranch, the backdrop to the show. The scavenger-hunt posts received 288,000+ social engagements, resulting in more than 25,000 unique visits and 15,000 guess submissions.
