What attracted you to this industry?
I was attracted to this industry because I was able to make a difference locally, serving my family, friends and neighbors with great products and service. It presents the opportunity to strengthen our communities while evolving a technology driven delivery system. We serve smaller rural communities and one of my favorite excerpts from our marketing messaging is, “Doing the right thing today so we can face you in the supermarket tomorrow.”

How do you give back to your community?
I love to give back to my community through volunteering on local boards and leveraging the strengths of my company to help our communities prosper. From a fundraising standpoint we’ve done everything from a live telethon to duck a derby. We provide popcorn, bags, seasoning and butter to all our schools as a way for them to raise funds.  I’ve learned so much about community and leadership while serving in leadership positions with local groups like the chamber of commerce, United Way, economic development, and Toastmasters, not to mention the lifelong relationships I’ve formed. I serve on the advisory board for Fort Hays University’s Department of Informatics, helping to steer curriculum and ensuring the program produces industry ready professionals. If our communities are successful we will be too.

What is your favorite app these days?
Life 360. Having young kids and young drivers in the household, this allows us to keep tabs on them both live and historically. Simple things like if they used their phone while driving or speeding and it also notifies us when the kids arrive or leave home.

How do you relax?
Watching TV with the family or going on an adventure in the great outdoors.
