Nat Geo delivered a master class in building anticipation for this 12-part series. The press first learned it had been greenlit during Summer TCA 2018, with Jeff Goldblum making a surprise, buzzy appearance (he was trending on Twitter for much of that day). The next tease came during Disney’s April 2019 Investor Day, followed by Goldblum making an appearance in August at Disney’s D23 Expo. To keep the press going, Nat Geo offered multiple, targeted unique exclusives. As the premiere drew closer, Goldblum had everyone in stitches following an appearance on “Jeopardy!.” Capping it all off was a performance by Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra at Sony Hall.
