NBA Digital’s “The Starters” recognized the need to more directly connect with followers and began one of the first shows for Twitter’s livestreaming platform. Joining the more freeform conversational style of podcasting with the segmented focus of TV, the show intends to engage more directly with fans. Polls, Trivia, and soliciting real-time viewer response is all a part of that effort, which has proved engaging and fun way for fans to see the more freewheeling side of their favorite hosts.
