To bring attention to the terrible slaughter of defenseless elephants in Garamba National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, National Geographic turned to Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow. Partnering with co-creator Imraan Ismail, they used 360-degree cameras to document a day in the life of the park’s rangers, who serve as the last line of defense for these endangered creatures. Premiering at Tribeca and supported by a full spread of marketing materials, surprise guests and panel discussions, the immersive short helped bring attention to a desperate cause.
