The time of direct-to-consumer services is now, with Disney, WarnerMedia and NBCU all releasing their own this year. But deploying multiscreen video services isn’t easy, and these five teamed up to create a pre-integrated streaming delivery platform with a “pay-as-you-grow” subscription-based pricing model. The approach lowers barriers of entry to the marketplace by lowering startup costs and allowing costs to scale with audience growth. And the platform now has a global fanbase, with Russian-based TotalVideo choosing it as the foundation of its B2B video platform service for eastern European pay TV operators with an estimated 15 million subscribers.
