Finding new ways to give thanks to fans is not easy. What hasn’t been done by this point?  HBO found a way at this year’s SXSW, opening a series of activations, dubbed “The Escape” which allowed fans to enter and interact with intricately detailed recreation of some of HBO’s most popular series’ sets. The level of detail was amazing, and would have been enough for most fans, but HBO upped the ante by featuring surprise guests: casts members from each of the shows, who greeted fans, took photos, and had fun of their own. A wonderful promotion that gave back in a unique and engaging way.
