Maintaining an entrepreneurial mindset as a company grows isn’t always an easy thing to do, but Cordova manages to do just that while focusing on initiatives such as FTTH, Altice One and the MVNO launch, which have accelerated the company’s growth across all service areas. Cordova says even companies like Altice that prioritize diversity need to be proactive. “Diversity must continue to be made a priority by senior leaders within our industry,” he says. “With top down commitment in place, a strong diversity program that measures progress and communicates status will push our respective diversity programs to continuously improve.”
What does your company/organization do to ensure all employees feel included?
We have established a diverse organization, managed by key leaders who through their actions, not just words, show our commitment to and sincere focus on diversity.
How can diversity be better incorporated into the recruiting process?
Diversity must continue to be made a priority by senior leaders within our industry. With top down commitment in place, a strong diversity program that measures progress and communicates status will push our respective diversity programs to continuously improve.
What questions is the industry not yet asking in its efforts to be more diverse and inclusive that it should be?
Even though we have been working as an industry through organizations such as WICT and the SCTW to promote awareness and opportunities for women considering technical leadership roles, I believe that more can be done.
