The real issue with the selection of Tatiana Maslany is not whether she deserves to win, but if she shouldn’t win every acting category in every awards show ever, whether she is nominated or not. Her performance on Orphan Black has been transcendent since the show premiered in 2013, and her ability to portray wholly separate characters and make us forget time and time again that she is, in fact, only one actress has been one of the great performances of her generation.
