This ongoing campaign had special meaning during the pandemic with 2.7 million unemployed arts workers not getting federal support. The network provided $1 million to fund the “Save Arts Institutions and Arts Workers” campaign and got key celebs to help successfully push Congress to provide relief, including by penning op/eds in major newspapers such as USA Today. A dedicated Stand For The Arts website (www.StandForTheArts.com) highlights all of the campaign’s efforts. Ovation isn’t done though. It’s pushing for a $1 billion annual appropriation for the National Endowment for the Arts, with a minimum 5% increase each year, to reflect the economic value of the $878 billion arts industry.
