MLB Network’s effort to bolster youth baseball and softball has us donning foam fingers and doing the wave. Each week, “MLB Central” or “MLB Tonight” featured a #SandlotToTheShow segment for a national audience, where videos of kids 13 or older in action were analyzed by MLB network’s lineup of former MLB players and Hall of Famers. Since the start of 2019 and continuing into 2020, #SandlotToTheShow has been mentioned more than 20,000 times on Twitter and Instagram, and the network has featured the videos of more than 430 youth baseball and softball players.
