We have decided, after watching Animal Planet’s River Monsters, that ignorance is bliss. Truly, we were happier NOT knowing the demonic sea creatures pulled from the depths by host Jeremy Wade ever existed at all. Still, the show hits such a sweet spot of adventure, mystery and education that we can’t turn away. Wade’s desire to find these horrors seems almost obsessive at times, but when he accomplishes his goal we revel with him, engaging in one of the highest forms of human endeavor: discovery.
