Ferro still finds time to laugh despite a busy schedule overseeing ad sales functions and ad revenue-generating strategies across Disney/ABC’s domestic entertainment, news, and kids linear and digital television and radio businesses, plus heading up the integrated sales team for the Walt Disney Co.’s online, mobile and social fare. She names Katie Otto from “American Housewife” as her favorite current female TV character. “She is a real woman with real issues who is hysterical and relatable and it’s great to see that reflected in TV as a great role model and character.”

Who is your favorite current female TV character and why?
“American Housewife’s” Katie Otto (Katy Mixon) because she is fabulous and funny and Real. She lives the daily struggle of keeping it all together, putting her family first and feeling like she is always one step behind everyone else.  She is a real woman with real issues who is hysterical and relatable and it’s great to see that reflected in TV as a great role model and character.

What industry topic do you think will dominate industry headlines in 2018 and why?
Measurement and the ability to measure audiences accurately across screens. We still have so much work to do in that area.

What is one way the industry can continue to evolve in ridding itself of gender discrimination?
Focus on paying equal wages to all

Best advice for relieving stress?
Laugh!! Surround yourself with people who make you laugh and make sure you do a lot of it. It’s the best medicine for a bad day.
