Rita Cooper Lee

Apple is ramping up its video content division, recently tapping former WGN America publicity chief Lee to lead communications for the new television unit. Apple has an agile and highly adept publicity professional in Lee. Her four years at Tribune Media included an expansion of the company’s TV station empire, the spinning off of its newspaper publishing division to its shareholders and last, but not least, —its impending sale to Sinclair. Lee has an obvious strong work ethic, but she doesn’t sweat the small stuff. “Ninety-nine percent of what we worry about never happens—and it’s PR not ER,” she says.

What famous woman, living or deceased, would you like to have dinner with?
I’d love to have dinner with my late, great mother, Dr. Betty J. Cooper. She was a highly accomplished educator and incredibly compassionate human being, who believed in mentoring and reaching back to pull others forward in life.

Best advice for relieving stress?
99% of what we worry about never happens–and it’s PR not ER.
