“Melinda Gates and MacKenzie Scott, who are each making a massive impact after parting ways with their spouses. And the women of Afghanistan, many who are now imprisoned in their homes, but haven’t given up hope on getting an education and fighting for their right for an education and control over their own lives.”

What’s the most significant challenge facing women in leadership today, and how can it be addressed? I’m fortunate to work for a company that has a majority of women in leadership roles. But that’s not the case broadly speaking. I know too many incredibly talented women who have dropped out of the workforce. It’s a loss for them and our country as well.

If you could compete in one game or competition series, which would it be and why? The Boston Marathon, because it is the ultimate marathon. Would love to do Heartbreak Hill, but not sure I’m fast enough to qualify.

What benefits should companies consider offering to support women advancement and to make the workplace more equitable? Companies should assess how they can build on childcare support and flexibility for women. Additionally, more broadly, about encouraging women to take on challenging and empowering roles that can lead to a future bright with opportunities. I was lucky enough to be promoted while I was on maternity leave, and find that giving women opportunities at such critical junctures can be game-changing.

Is there a moment you’ll never forget because someone wrote you off because of your gender? Early in my career as a reporter, I was often able to nail stories because a man assumed I didn’t fully understand the subject and divulged details he didn’t want to share when explaining a subject.

What’s a skill you’re currently working on? (work-related or non-work-related) Thanksgiving for 25 because my husband is out of commission with an ankle injury.
