Paul Guyardo

Years in Cable: 21

Education: Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree, Northwestern University

One Word that Best Describes Me: Passionate

Guyardo takes calculated risks to grow Discovery’s digital and global enterprises businesses. Despite challenging head winds, he’s working to increase ad sales profits for the company through unique 360-degree deals, results-driven partnerships and innovative use of technology and data. Case in point is his current endeavor to leverage Discovery’s joint venture partnership with BAMTech, a subsidiary of MLB’s digital business, to bring premium sports content to more viewers across Europort Digital’s products. Meanwhile, globe-trotting Perrette, whose contract with Discovery was extended through 2019, sets the strategy for the company’s five international operations: Latin America/U.S. Hispanic, Northern Europe, Southern Europe, Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (CEEMEA) and Asia-Pacific. This includes Discovery’s recent strategic decision to cut Hollywood content from its offerings in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden in an effort to stem costs and focus on more unique offerings such as Olympics content.
