OWN’s initiative to empower Black women to own their health included primetime TV specials featuring Oprah Winfrey, California Surgeon General Dr. Nadine Burke-Harris and Adrienne Bankert as well as social content throughout 2021 highlighting proactive prevention, unspoken issues such as fertility, and the pressure to appear strong and suppress emotions. The campaign has garnered more than 300,000 video views and 43% growth in social media followers.
