At one point claiming to portray “the story of Earth,” National Geographic’s One Strange Rock Trailer feels up to the task of fulfilling such a boast. With the ever-compelling Will Smith and a bevy of science-celebrity speakers providing the narration, dramatic footage of our odd and fantastic planet is set against an atonal and sometimes bellowing score. The tone is disquieting, which grabs viewers right away and holds them through the stunning visuals right to the end.
