Ampersand benefits from Sinagoga’s trailblazing and steadfast leadership, whether it is advancing women’s sports advertising with 300% revenue growth year-over-year or pioneering the award-winning, laser-targeted “audience first” campaign with BMW/Universal McCann. She launched “Amp Up University,” a training program for over 150 employees, empowering her team to keep reaching new heights.

“Whether you’re a parent, caregiver or pet owner, most companies now respect juggling careers with personal obligations. When I started in media, balance was rare, and any understanding leader was a gift. Today, women expect to succeed both at work and at home.”

Who is a female athlete you admire and why? I admire the University of Minnesota dance team, where I was fortunate to be part of the first group to compete at nationals. Back then, dance wasn’t a varsity sport, but we worked tirelessly. Today, they’ve won 22 national and 3 world championships. I’m amazed by their talent and how far women athletes have come

Is there a moment you’ll never forget because someone wrote you off because of your gender? Absolutely! I believe every woman honored with this award has faced at least one defining moment. Mine came during a job interview when I was bluntly asked how I balance work and home. As a single mother advancing in my career, I’d never faced this question from my direct leader or senior leaders. While I was managing my workload and taking on extra projects—unlike my male counterparts—I didn’t get that job, and fortunately so. I later landed a far more fulfilling role with an incredible leader who remains my mentor today.

What benefits should companies consider offering to support women advancement and to make the workplace more equitable? My biggest concern for future leaders is the impact of remote and hybrid work. We need to find ways to connect more as mentors and advisors, both formally and informally. As margins tighten, I worry that funding for training and mentorship will diminish. I’ve been fortunate to benefit from leadership programs that supported my growth, and I believe companies must continue to invest in them meaningfully.
