Minale’s list of engineering feats at Boingo are many and include launching the first major WiFi offload relationship with one of the US’s Big Four carriers. More than 22 million Sprint customers on Android or iOS devices within proximity of a Boingo hotspot in 35 airports can automatically connect to the network with no user action required. Minale and her team also facilitated the addition of 22 million plus Sprint customers onto Boingo’s WiFi networks around the world. She’s passionate about bringing more women into engineering, giving time to nonprofit Girls in Tech and serving as an active member of the nationwide IEEE organization Women in Engineering. “Diverse hiring and inclusive leadership is imperative for the industry as it creates a culture that consistently produces results that benefit all stakeholders,” she says.

What’s a recent example of a step forward for diversity in the industry?
The Wall Street Journal recently reported that women are gaining more seats in U.S. boardrooms. This is a step in the right direction and I hope that it encourages workplace diversification, more innovative ideas and creative solutions.

If there were a reality show based on your office, what would it be called?
SPIRITed! 

The name plays off the SPIRIT of Boingo: Supportive People Impassioned Responsive Innovative Transparent. The show would follow new hires at Boingo and showcase how they learn to work in new team environments.
