Under Detz’s direction, Cable One cultivates an inclusive and diverse workforce. Via Cable One’s 2023 IGNITE initiative, her HR team has brought together the company’s 3,200 associates across five brands and 24 states for connection and sharing, taking the company’s much-loved tradition of annual roadshows to the next level with five large, in-person events; 40-plus smaller, local events—the first such gatherings since the pandemic. At the same time, she has redesigned Cable One’s Performance Management program and has fostered an open, inclusive company environment.

TV series everyone should binge: “The Terminal List”! I just rewatched it.

What celebrity would you hire for your company? I think Ryan Reynolds would have made a great commercial spokesperson for CABO (too bad Mint Mobile snagged him first!). He brings such humor to his work and draws a great audience.

Which industry executive do you wish was running for president and why? I may be a little biased, but I think Julie Laulis, President and CEO of Cable One would be a phenomenal president! We need a leader in the White House with good business skills, effective leadership, understanding and team building…and having previously run a sizable organization doesn’t hurt – it’s a winning combination!

What’s your position on Stanley cups (not the NHL kind)? I think every generation has its version of a Stanley Cup. In my generation it was “Guess Jeans”—very expensive (for the time) but everyone coveted them. While a bit crazy that the recent trend is centered around a “cup,” kids seem to be enjoying the hunt!
