What a year it’s been for the streaming team over at NBCUniversal. Hammer spent 2019 building up for the launch of streaming service Peacock, before shifting gears to head up the company’s studio efforts. Strauss came over from the Xfinity side of the business to take up Hammer’s mantle and oversaw Peacock’s debut to Xfinity customers in the midst of a global pandemic. While eyes had been on Lazarus as a potential successor to Steve Burke, in the game of executive musical chairs Lazarus now runs NBCU’s television networks and streaming services, Peacock included.
