With a focus on delivering only relevant local news without some of the more negative stories that might lead a local newscast, The Weather Channel’s Local Now app was already in a unique space. Intended for cord cutters, the goal is to disrupt the status quo. This year’s 2.0 upgrade breaks its own status quo, however, introducing two new video series as well as upgrading the experience for users in 25 U.S. markets.
