Kristin Malaspina serves as vice president, partnership marketing at Spectrum Networks, Charter Communications’ series of 24/7 news and sports networks. Most recently she led the rebrand of more than 44 Spectrum Networks with the purpose of aligning corporate rebranding efforts post acquisitions—a feat that took more than a year and spanned 1000+ assets. The biggest change in the role of the affiliate marketer, according to this Betsy Magness honoree, is the increase multiplatform content, which makes it more challenging to communicate and engage with customers. “It’s becoming a bigger part of all of our marketing campaigns and budgets,” she says. “We continue to engage through traditional platforms—direct mail, bill messaging, etc., but the non-traditional platforms are becoming more and more important to your brands success.

What professional accomplishments are you most proud of from the past 12 months?

Leading the rebrand of over 44+ Spectrum Networks to align with the corporate rebranding effort after the acquisitions.  It took over a year across 1000+ assets.

Being part of the transformation of the Spectrum News channels through new programming, graphics, sponsorship packages, and advertising efforts. I am also proud that I was accepted into the Betsy Magness program. It is an amazing opportunity to further grow as a leader in our industry.

With all the disruption in the marketplace, how has the role of an affiliate marketer changed?

The biggest change has been the increase in content available across multiple platforms which makes it more challenging to communicate and engage with customers.  It’s becoming a bigger part of all of our marketing campaigns and budgets.  We continue to engage through traditional platforms—direct mail, bill messaging, etc but the non-traditional platforms are becoming more and more important to your brands success.

What do you do for fun outside of work?

I love to travel internationally and experience new countries.  My favorite destinations have been Italy, France and Spain.  I love the food, culture, and people.  There is something special about international travel that is very different from domestic travel.  There is a sense of excitement as soon as you step on the plane.
