Kevin Reilly, HBO

Years in Industry: 32

Education: B.S., Cornell University

The May launch of HBO Max marked a major victory for Reilly, who crafted the creative strategy for the streamer. While the COVID-19 pandemic threw a wrench in the production schedule for many of the originals slated for the platform at launch, Reilly kept the team on schedule and was able to launch HBO Max with more than 10,000 hours of content. He hasn’t forgotten about the linear nets, and ratings for both TNT and TBS are up 15% in recent months.

The COVID-19 pandemic forever changed my perspective on:
Staying healthy.

What about travel used to annoy you but that now you actually miss?
Airplane Cabernet.

Last content I streamed:
“My Neighbor Totoro” on HBO Max.

“Tiger King” is a thing because…
It’s a first-class freak show… and some pretty damn good documentary work.

The first thing I’ll do when I’m back in the office is…
Recline in my Aeron desk chair, which I sorely miss (literally).

My prediction for AVODs is…
It will be an important part of the advertising landscape.

If I launched my own personal streaming service, it would be called…
KPRMax.

Working from home has taught me…
That even then I run late to the office.

Last show binged not on your networks:
“Dave.”
