Using phone-based Augmented Reality, SYFY digital devised a unique way to promote its weird, irreverent, slightly twisted and slightly heartwarming series “HAPPY!” Using a unique mobile app, users could bring the animated, supposedly imaginary character of Happy into their own living rooms, customizing his appearance and interacting with his rather relentlessly upbeat personality. A uniquely perfect marriage of new technology to an innovative television show, the HAPPY! AR app made us wonder why we ever stopped seeing our imaginary friends in the first place.
