Hallmark Channel had so much success with 2019’s “Very Merry Giveaway,” it brought the sweepstakes back again last Christmas, but made it bigger, better, and, well, merrier. Viewers had a chance to win $10,000 for themselves and another $10,000 to share with someone of their choice, as well as daily prizes over 60 days. The prizes often correlated to the movie debuting that night and were awarded in pairs so that viewers could share the love. The contest ended with nearly 75 million total entries, making it one of the most successful sweeps in network history and helping the net’s “Countdown to Christmas” to record-breaking ratings (again!), with 50 million unduplicated total viewers.
