Balian has continued to flourish despite taking on a number of new responsibilities this past year. She now solely leads all series development for FX Networks and FX Productions and also is in charge of FNG’s global programming unit, developing and acquiring programs to simultaneously launch in the US, Europe, Latin America and Asia. Balian’s currently developing “Trust,” an FX limited series about the Getty family, set to air in 2018. She hopes the recent focus on gender equality is just the start of a bigger conversation: “There is still more work to do to unpack these systemic issues and many people I know are committed to working on this.”
What is one way the industry can continue to evolve in ridding itself of gender discrimination?
