Yes, Fox Sports had the Super Bowl, World Series and Daytona 500 last year. But it wasn’t just top sporting events that Shanks had on his race card. Fox Sports had more than 250 billion minutes viewed of live events, a nice feather in an increasingly on demand world. Then there’s a little something called Thursday Night Football, which Shanks and his team managed to secure for the next five years as they position Fox as the home for NFL coverage. Shanks’ leadership extends beyond media rights, with Fox Sports taking a lead in next-generation delivery via VR, augmented reality and mixed reality.

The biggest innovation in media/broadband over the last year? Mixed Reality
