Sure, he launched iconic series including “Mad Men,” “Breaking Bad” and “The Walking Dead.” But Carroll is never one to rest on his laurels. This year was one for the books, with AMC Networks housing four of the five top dramas on basic cable. Carroll committed to building AMC Studios as a producer of original content, and 2018 saw new series “Dietland” and “The Terror” coming to fruition. October also saw IFC announcing the launch of Funny or Die Television, a branded night of short-form programming. AMC Networks International also is flourishing, with Latin America adding 5 million new subscribers. Carroll also expanded SundanceTV’s global presence, with the network launching in South Africa for the first time.
