This social media contest challenged local K-12 schools and community organizations in Sparklight markets to describe how they would use $3,000 in prize money for a tech project that would help their students dream bigger. The five winners used the funds for equipment upgrades, school trips and competition costs; however, Sparklight reaped clear benefits as well in the form of free media coverage and the massive swell of goodwill created in the communities.
