Where to even begin with Daniel Tibbets, whose more than 20-year career in entertainment programming brings him most recently to Robert Rodriguez’s brainchild El Rey Network, a Latino-infused brand that reaches far beyond that demographic and has carved out its own niche for “strivers” who embody the courage, capacity, and creativity of ordinary people on extraordinary journeys. He now manages all aspects of this bold network as it fights for its place in the TV landscape, using the savvy he acquired over years of experience, most recently as Chief Creative Officer at groundbreaking Machinima where he plotted content strategy at the fandom and gaming powerhouse. These days, it’s hard to find TV executives with the breadth and depth of Tibbets’ experience, and we can only imagine what innovative strategies he’ll continue to cook up as he leads El Rey Network into the future.
