“Without question, ‘Jeopardy!’—even better if I could turn back time and do so on an episode hosted by the late great Alex Trebek. I am the oldest of four kids, and we were lucky enough to spend every summer with our grandparents on the Jersey Shore. They were Jeopardy! fanatics and competed against each other five nights a week, keeping track of their own scores on a notepad. Up through and including our teenage years, each of my siblings and I would join one of them and compete fiercely against the other one and their team. We didn’t realize at the time the incredible values that our grandparents were instilling in us during this nightly 30-minute activity or how special this tradition was.”

How has embracing your authentic self shaped your leadership style? By embracing my authentic self, I am able to align my leadership style with my core values and lead with courage, empathy, and resilience. I have a passion for authenticity and strive to demonstrate and encourage actions and behaviors that reflect what is important to me, such as confidently doing what is right in the face of adversity, investing deeply in professional relationships, modeling collaboration, and using setbacks as opportunities for growth.

What’s the toughest part about being a leader in the industry? The pace and consistency of change in the industry impacts every aspect of what we do and the teams that we lead. As a leader, I feel deeply responsible for guiding my team through adversity and challenging times as the people on my team are my most valuable asset. During such times, I lead by example by embracing a positive mindset, showing my own vulnerability to create an atmosphere of trust, encouraging open and honest conversations, and demonstrating personal resilience, while also recognizing and rewarding resilience within my team.
