Winters has served as VP of Cass Cable TV in Virginia, Illinois, for nearly five years. Originally just 12 channels in the Springfield area, under Winters’ leadership the company now serves nine counties covering 32 communities. Not satisfied just with his important operations role, Winters also helps develop a culture of volunteerism at Cass. “Our company encourages its employees to be involved in the communities we serve. I assist a group of employees in unloading a delivery truck at the local food pantry each month,” he explains.

What has been your biggest professional accomplishment to date?
At the end of 2017, we made a decision to upgrade our services by rebuilding our systems with fiber to the home in all of our communities. We will offer fiber services to residents, businesses and organizations in all of our communities when the upgrades are complete.  The Fiber upgrades allow customers to receive much higher symmetrical internet speeds with packages ranging up to 1 Gig. We are also in the process of transitioning to an IPTV solution for our customers. With the IPTV solution, we will be able to offer a quality video product with integrated support tools that provides our customers with a great television viewing experience.

How do you give back to your community?
Our company encourages its employees to be involved in the communities we serve. I assist a group of employees in unloading a delivery truck at the local food pantry each month. I have served on a local economic development board since 2006 and been in the Chairman’s role since 2010. I have served on a local park board since 2006 and been in the President’s role since 2007.  I also served as the treasurer on a town festival committee for twelve years.

How do you relax?

By spending time with my wife and our two children. We have a six year old son and a two year old daughter.  I don’t know if you can call it relaxing, but they are definitely enjoyable moments together.
