Carmi Zlotnik

Years in Cable: 30

Last year, Lionsgate acquired Starz for approximately $4.4 billion in cash and stock, opting to operate the cable network as a wholly owned subsidiary. It speaks to Albrecht’s success that it was announced he would continue to serve at the top and that his contract was extended to the year 2020. He has led the evolution of Starz’s premium pay TV business with an aggressive plan to dramatically increase the company’s investment in proprietary and licensed original programming such as “Outlander” and “Black Sails.” On the charity front, he co-founded Comic Relief, which has raised more than $50 million to benefit the homeless. Working alongside Albrecht is Zlotnik, responsible for programming and development activities as well as overseeing production of Starz Original Series. In addition to “American Gods,” which debuts April 30, Zlotnik will bring “Counterpart” and several Latino series to Starz. He supports diverse projects with showrunners, EPs, directors, and actors from all backgrounds.
