After 30 years heading ESPN’s programming department, in March 2023 Magnus shifted his focus to ESPN’s new Content organization. Durant returned to ESPN the same month to take on her current position, where she quickly made a splash by signing multiple agreements, including an eight-year NCAA deal covering more than 40 men’s and women’s championships. Meanwhile, Magnus connected with younger fans via “Toy Story” Funday Football and featured Pat McAfee across all of ESPN’s platforms, from YouTube and TikTok to linear TV.
