Solarz has held a variety of roles in the industry, from sales to distribution strategy, at content providers such as Nickelodeon, Viacom and HBO. At Cisco, Solarz supports senior management on solving, creating and executing strategic long term plans across cable, telco, media and web clients focusing on video, data and mobile initiatives. In the past year he developed a skinny bundle profitability analysis, constructed a go-to-market monetization strategy for a new OTT streaming solution, and developed a framework to better align an industry transformation with employee incentives. “The continuous innovation, and constant flow of determined disruptors within this space ensures there’s never a dull day; this industry allows me to stay connected to my passions, further deepen my business acumen, and have an impact on such mundane, yet powerful mediums like TV, internet and mobile services.”

What attracted you to this industry?
I was always fascinated by the world of media. I was lucky enough to get my start at the age of 18 working at a small record label in New York. From there, I just couldn’t get enough. I loved being part of a world that was relevant, exciting and most of all, constantly evolving.
