ABC emphasized the significant milestone of 20 seasons by having a surprise singing telegram hand deliver “American Idol” press mailers. The singers belted out American Idol Season 1 winner Kelly Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This” to each recipient. The actual delivery included a record player queued up with a custom Ryan Seacrest message on vinyl, a vinyl from each judge’s collection (Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie), themed donuts and other fun treats. The unusual press kit resulted in tons of social posts, with Lionel Richie even reposting some of them.
