This year saw an expansion of responsibilities for Lightcap, who added the recently launched Discovery Kids Media to her purview. The global unit already has 15 projects under development. Lightcap, who is from Buenos Aires and is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese, also oversaw the launch of HGTV in Latin America early this year; Food Network achieved record audience growth of 50% since its Latin American launch. Next up is generating local content for the company’s digital platforms and linear channels for the entire portfolio.
